Rainbow Futurity Winner Wild Six Preparing For All American Trials RUIDOSO DOWNS, NM—JULY 28, 2007—The undefeated two-time Grade 1 futurity winner
Wild Six is preparing for the All American Futurity trials on Aug. 16 after her game win in the Grade 1, $625,000 Rainbow Futurity.
“She caught herself on the left hind a little bit, but is doing well,” trainer Wes Giles said. “There won’t be any special training with her. Just try to freshen her up.
“We’re looking for the best — good weather, a good trial and a good post position. This filly loves to run.”
Wild Six has been perfect in five starts for owners Lee Sherwood, Herman Mineer and John Lee. She has also been profitable with $457,503 in earnings after being purchased for $32,000 in last year’s Ruidoso Quarter Horse Yearling Sale. The Tres Seis daughter rallied to win the Grade 1 West Texas Futurity and showed her grit with her neck win in the Rainbow Futurity as the 6-5 favorite.
The 10 fastest qualifiers from the 440-yard All American Futurity trials will race for the $2 million (est.) purse on Labor Day.
