Love Spur Stop! Love it.. Love it, Love it.

My Horses were trained by 2 differant trainers for Spur Stop.

Love it... It can be abused, but when done right, Nothing better..

Squeeze with calves, if no responce then squeeze with spurs, be easy, and slightly, hold and release for slowing down.
Squeeze tighter and hold for stop, most horses are trained to set there heads when you do this as well.
Quick stop, Grip with calves and spurs, hold tight, when they have stopped release pressure.
Once you figure it out youll love it!

yes she is broke to drop head at the tighter squeeze....

My stallion will be spur broke, seems trainers are loving this... seems like a good move.

If the horse is going hollow, move your legs back and low and just bump or tickle to get them to lift.

When asking for the lope, move your lets say to the left lead, Move our leg back, squeeze with the right leg, move the hip over and ask them to move off. Leave it there until you have the collection you want.

RAchel's new horse is spur broke. So far, I am really liking it. Time will tell. She only has 10 or so rides in on him. With him, it's not just a spur stop...everything is with the spurs. Headset is done with spurs, slowing, stopping, leads, etc. Of course, it's really kindof a misnomer I guess. It should be called "leg broke". He really responds well to the leg and then she goes to the spur if he is slow to respond to the leg.
