Did his parents have APHA papers? If they did then so will he.

If he is a Paint with full Quarter Horse blood, then what you need to do is find out which of those APHA ancestors also have AQHA papers. If they don't have them, you need to contact the AQHA and find out what the requirements are. This can get real costly if his parents and grandparents don't also have AQHA papers already.

The horses on his lines need to be registered AQHA in order to get double registry on him. Even if they are dead. Barlink Macho Man was dead when he got his AQHA papers.. Most of them that were eligable have already done this. study

Certainly worth looking in to. But, the people you got the colt from should all ready know this. Start there. And, keep in mind he has too much white to show him AQHA.. Where this will help you is on solid colored foals. Basketball

he has too much white to show halter but if you break him he could be shown under saddle and be competitive keep that in mind... that depends on the judges you will find biases and it is difficult to get those papers and they will be marked undesirable. (Wont matter to most people though.)
