Some friends and I are wanting to teach our horses the Cupid Shuffle. We have the side passing down, but when the song comes to the part that says "walk it by yourself" we are stumped. Any ideas? We wanted to prance in place, but all that is doing is confusing our horses.

This is a crazy random idea, but we only use our horses on cattle, and we thought this would be good for their minds. Not just cows cows cows all the time.

Would that be about the same pivot in a showmanship class? Or maybe a little slower?

Slower, depending on how long you need it to last.

I think what you're talking about is called a piaf(sp)....pronounced pee-ahf.

I had a friend in Mich who was into dressage. I rode her horse only a few times.....The key is, impulsion, impulsion, impulsion!!!!!!! The bit is used as a barrier. The horse is driven into the bit...Pressure is given one leg at a time....Left, right, left, right. Sit tight...Weight on both butt bones, evenly. Hands low.

Ragdoll, thanks for the tip! I tried that with just our regular bit. It didnt work that great. I would give her my right heel then left, right then left, and she started cutting. Thats got to have something to do with her cutting training. SO, i thought that could be the "walk it by yourself" step.

Once we get it down I will have a video, I promise. It might take til summer to get it done!
