| Well - the first baby was born at the farm this morning (6am) a cute little bay filly...ok - not so cute in the head (dang TBs).... No REAL babies yet...actually I am a bit concerned...my mare (due date 2/13) has NO milk, nothing, nothing at all...hmph...she just started showing in Dec...but she was AI - ONE TIME - and we even had her palpated to make sure...she is for sure in foal...just why nothing yet?? All of the other mares around here start to bag up 6wks out...or maybe I'm confused | |

| No - just a farm baby...not even one of the nice ones!!!! Just wait though - when the ones with daddys that stand for $25k and up start hitting the ground I'll be snapping pics! Right now we've got some nice nice short yearlings - kinda sickening actually - those stud fees are absurd! | |

| I do not know how well you know this mare that is not bagging. Some don't. I had one that went over 2 weeks and showed no signs other then being really huge. One day she was eating her am grain and her water broke. She just lifted her head and looked back then continued eating. Of course when the foal started coming she laid down and foaled out a great big paly colt. This was her first. She drove me crazy.. She not only did not do any of the normal stuff she would never show in cycle and the so called know it all breeder missed her because he thought she was not in.. She did show heat cycle the first time. Never after that and her second foal was a week late. Also, big paly filly.. She was a golden buckskin and no matter what she was bred to she had paly foals.. | |
